Stop being scared to play your character, just play your character as you know they are, don't ask what you should do at the table, you know what you would do and do it and let the consequences fall as the story develops! But Never utter the phrase "It's what my character would do" because if you have to say it then it is NOT what your character would do because you wouldn't have to defend yourself!
