TAG Heuer has unveiled the fifth generation of its successful Connected smartwatch line, the Connected Calibre E5 40MM x New Balance Edition, marking a return after a three-year hiatus. This launch is a significant collaboration with sportswear brand New Balance, combining high-end Swiss watchmaking with a deep focus on running performance, technology, and precision.
The most notable innovation is the introduction of the proprietary TAG Heuer OS, an in-house operating system designed to deliver an optimized, intuitive, and significantly more fluid user experience.
Technically, the E5 features improved, faster connectivity, including instant pairing and full compatibility with iOS ecosystems. Its enhanced health and fitness capabilities include accurate heart rate monitoring, real-time activity tracking, dual-band GPS for high precision, and extended battery life designed to ensure performance is not compromised.
The watch is built for durability and comfort, featuring a lightweight and robust 40mm Grade 2 titanium case with a black DLC coating and a sandblasted finish. The design includes a new dial scale (0-100) synchronized with training metrics and a patented Cushion Comfort System strap.
Crucially for athletes, the collaboration provides an exclusive training experience: six New Balance-developed running plans (from 5k to marathon preparation) are available. These programs sync directly to the watch via the TAG Heuer Connected app, allowing for phone-free, guided training sessions with features like "Chasing Diamonds" to help maintain optimal pace.
