Taking a Look at Damaged Core (Oculus Rift CV1 Gameplay)
So after reading all of the different reviews for Damaged Core I decided that I wanted to try this for myself and form my own opinion. Needless to say as a huge fan of FPS games I was intrigued that finally we are seeing these types of games coming back to VR. Overall the game is good, but I do not understand how they can call this an FPS. There is no free movement in the game so to me it is more of a wave based turret shooter than an FPS game. Don't get me wrong, as I said the game is good but just not what I expected from something that was promoted as an FPS in VR. The graphics are polished and the action gets quite intense when paired with the awesome positional audio in the game. I do however hope that we can get back to true first person shooters being played in VR someday for those of us who don't suffer from VR sickness issues. I really miss the old days playing HL2 and Team Fortress or Alien Isolation in VR.
