Tales from Space: Mutant Blob Attack Part 1: Squeeze it in!
All the memes and slimes and whatever. Just cram it in until the sexual innuendo starts killing people!
Anyway, this is a game about a blob.
It looks a little like Gish, but it's less about sticking and much more oriented towards minor puzzles and action-platform segments. It has a few cute gimmicks, but it feels really tight because, unlike most games, it focuses on a few solid mechanics.
First is growth. It's a bit pragmatic, but basically, you need to grow big to eat corks to progress. It's cool, but also feels a little lackluster at some points.
Then there's Boost/Rocket Mode. Here, jumping just shoots you forward like a cell in a body, expelling precious goo to progress. Using the magic triggers and shoulder buttons (shift on keyboard) you go into super-boost mode and go quite fast.
Learn this mechanic well, it'll help out later.
Telekinesis is a third thing. Either mouse or the thumbstick allows you to move green-glowing objects. Mostly, to launch and move things (including yourself), sometimes just to move on the platform itself.
Fourth, ground pounds. Unlike normal games, it CAN be changed in midair (direction). This is used in a few levels, which is kinda neat!
There's another major mechanic that'll play out in the Town levels. It's very well done and feels great, you'll love it. They do a few nasty bits with it, though.
