Tales of Arise - Balseph (Hard Mode)

Balseph is a really satisfying first boss to the game, gives me a lot of hope for how this game will play. I kind of get smashed around a tad, but I get there at least, just a few life bottles down. This guy kind of reminds me of Fruegel from legend of Dragoon in a lot of ways, size, personality, area where he lives, and being a relatively early boss.
The second battle is what really interested me with this fight, not only do you have to deal with Balseph and his attacks, but a giant flame avatar is pounding you with fire attacks at the same time.
Balseph charges a mystic arte at the end and I think you are supposed to kill him before he unleashes it. I failed to do that... but then he missed with the mystic arte because Alphen was already dead and it didn't go towards Shionne. Kind of a weird ending to the battle.
