As the guillotine descends, an unexpected chaos erupts when the fervor of the crowd intertwines with the insidious influence of the secretly administered Fruits of Helgan, leading to a nightmarish mass hollowification that engulfs both the Dark Wings and the populace of Niez.
Seemingly a victim, Almeidrea reveals her true colors with an unsettling twist. Her apparent repentance transforms into a malevolent scheme as she, in fact, masterminded the entire affair to harvest the astral energy of the unwitting victims. Unveiling her calculated manipulation, Almeidrea seizes the moment, leaving the crowd in disarray.
In the midst of the macabre revelation, Rinwell's personal vendetta comes to the forefront as she discovers Almeidrea to be the very lord responsible for the massacre of the Mages, sparing only her. Driven by the desire for revenge, Rinwell attempts to strike Almeidrea down, only to be restrained by Law, who intervenes to prevent a descent into vengeance.
Almeidrea escapes to her formidable fortress, the Mobile Fortress Gradia, with the group hot on her trail. Infiltrating the fortress, a fierce battle ensues, culminating in the group's triumph over Almeidrea. However, their victory is abruptly interrupted by the arrival of the final lord, Vholran Igniseri.
In a devastating turn, Vholran ruthlessly dispatches Almeidrea before facing Alphen in a confrontation that unlocks Alphen's latent powers, shattering the final remnants of his mask and unveiling his long-lost memories. The ensuing clash takes a tragic turn as Vholran seizes the opportunity to kidnap Shionne, leveraging her connection with Alphen's newfound vulnerability to pain as Vholran manipulates his powers to sink the fortress.
Tales of Arise is an Original Title in the Tales series. It was announced on June 9, 2019, during Microsoft's E3 2019 presentation. The game was initially announced with a release window set for 2020, but on June 25, 2020, it was announced that Tales of Arise would be released after 2020, but no specific date was provided.On April 21, 2021, it was announced that the game would be released on September 10, 2021. It is a first Original Title to have a simultaneous release across the world. Its characteristic genre translates to the "Telling the Dawn of the Heart RPG"
