1Alphen and his companions find themselves washed ashore at Thistlym, a pivotal moment where Alphen opens up about his haunting past. Unveiling a tale shrouded in tragedy, he recounts being a Dahnan test subject abducted three centuries ago. Engineered to play the role of Sovereign in the Spirit Summoning Ceremony alongside Naori Imeris, the Maiden, the ceremony's catastrophic failure razed much of Lenegis to ruin. The memories weigh heavily on Alphen, a pain etched in the lines of his history.
Despite the emotional burden, spurred on by encouragement, Alphen resolves to journey to Pelegion. There, the mission is clear: rescue Shionne and confront the formidable Vholran. Storming the city reveals a populace broken and numbed, their only solace found in hollow prayers. Within the solemn halls of Saxleoh Temple, Shionne is discovered ensnared in her own despair. Alphen, armed with newfound empathy and resilience, manages to breach the barriers of her suffering with a simple yet profound act – a heartfelt embrace.
The climactic confrontation with Vholran unveils the depth of his power as a Sovereign, yet the relentless determination of the group prevails, leading to his ultimate defeat. The acquisition of the final master core marks a turning point as the Renas Alma takes form, a beacon of hope to free Shionne from her thorny affliction. However, the anticipated reaction between the master cores remains elusive.
In a surprising twist, the Red Woman emerges, forcibly activating Alphen's Sovereign powers and Shionne's Maiden abilities. The energy from the five master cores converges into her Dark master core, forging the formidable Renas Alma. Swiftly absconding with their hopes, she leaves the group grappling with the aftermath and the daunting task of picking up the shattered pieces.
The party remains in Pelegion for several months, extending their aid to help the town rebuild and recover. As the echoes of their recent struggles linger, they grapple with the uncertainty of what lies ahead, contemplating their next steps in a world still reeling from the aftermath of profound events.
Tales of Arise is an Original Title in the Tales series. It was announced on June 9, 2019, during Microsoft's E3 2019 presentation. The game was initially announced with a release window set for 2020, but on June 25, 2020, it was announced that Tales of Arise would be released after 2020, but no specific date was provided.On April 21, 2021, it was announced that the game would be released on September 10, 2021. It is a first Original Title to have a simultaneous release across the world. Its characteristic genre translates to the "Telling the Dawn of the Heart RPG"
