Brutus...for me, he is actually harder than Veres. It's practically impossible to discern his vertical horn thrust from his horizontal horn slash, which can break my guard, ending in defeat. LIke every other Brutal cousin, he can call in monsters from the nearby vicinity, which makes things quite difficult. The Strathemes(sp?; the dodo-type monsters) can move quite fast, and the harpies can use Wind Needle. Brutus can also use Brutal's patented dive-out-of-the-ground attack at your location. With all of that going on, it was hard to get a fix on things, so the plan was to ruffle him up a little(about 20% HP), then knock his HP down to near 0 in one go using combo MA + Accel, which will have him use both of his "call friends", then take all of the "friends" out using C8 or Cyandine.

"Good plan." I thought, but ended up not doing that when I got this take. Brutus has both Paralyze and Petrify weaknesses, and to top it off, Pascal has CR Petrify/Paralyze skills, which greatly increase her critical rate during those status inflictions. Once he got Paralyzed, he could do nothing. Petrified adds 50% more damage on top of all the damage I'm dealing, making critical hits even more damaging. Being petrified upon MA startup deals that additional 50% damage during the MA. Considering he got petrified right after getting paralyzed, then petrified again with Infernal Prison, he pretty much got blown away in one combo.

Veres was easier in comparison. I could only utilize two weaknesses on any hit, plus, for some reason, he'll break out if I use the same loop too much. Even so, many of his attacks, except his footsies attack, was easily recognizable. His first 2 "Call Friends" calls in some slow-moving bees, which are much more easier to handle, while his third/last call calls in 3 scorpions the can cast Inverse Pressure, but that arte is simple to dodge, so again, to my advantage. Veres manage to catch me off guard when he called in two sets of scorpions, (because he took so much damage), but I was lucky that summons give Pascal invulnerability for an instant afterwards, so being swarmed with IPs did no damage to me. Still, an okay battle. I got hit a couple of times, and ran out of CC twice(which is usually unacceptable to me =01), but still barely makes a passing grade.

The end is just to show how I planned on ending the battle, but gave up after a while =01. Also shows that Veres and Pascal have the same 'get-up' animation after Fever Dream. Never knew that =03.

Another note; I've started using the Bruserine quality, which allows me to take a clean hit unstaggered every so often. Something I'll continue doing if I'm using the Book of Audacity =0^.
