Tales of the Abyss Long Play (NG+, 100%) #34: You Can't Always Get What You Want
Natalia needs to make a tough decision. After learning that Largo is really her father, she needs to decide if she will help us fight when the inevitable time comes. But we have business to handle at the Tower of Rem. She can sort her feelings on that out, as we try to stop Asch from sacrificing himself to get rid of all the miasma. We arrive at the Tower of Rem, but we miss the elevator, so we need to climb all the way to the top. Along the way, we run into the Dark Wings, who are also trying to stop Asch from being so foolhardy. But I can't imagine he will listen to our lot any better than them. But still, we must at least try. So as we head up, it becomes apparent that Asch is, indeed, trying to do this. Once we get to the top, we find we can't go any higher, unless we happen to get an elevator up. The elevator does pass by the highest point we can go, and there is a very interesting fon machine up here. After Guy examines it, he deduces that we can break the glass surrounding the elevator with it to hitch a ride to the top. We just need to power it up to do so. So we head back down and look for one of the fonic golems that has enough power to do so. Once we steal its power source, we put it to use and break the glass elevator, in time to meet up with the group of replicas that resemble people we have known and loved. They are blindly going to the top of the Tower of Rem to meet up with Mohs, who promised to take them to the Promised Land of Hod. However, Dist shows up to spoil their disillusions. He lets them know that Mohs will never come, and that there truly isn't any place for them here, which means they can sacrifice themselves, which they agree to do, on the condition that the remaining replicas who never made it here will be given a place amongst the living. We fight Dist and send him blasting off into the void. At the top, the replicas and Luke are given the time to decide what it is they truly want to do. We head back to Daath to meet with the Summit, and Luke decides to sacrifice himself in place of Asch, since he is the replica, and it just makes more sense for Asch to remain behind, being the original. All of Luke's friends try talking him out of this decision, but he remains resolute in his beliefs. With that out the way, everyone tells Luke to go ahead and do it, and we return to the Tower of Rem. At the top, Luke and Asch have a dick-measuring contest about who should be the one to do it, and Jade and Guy keep Asch and Tear back, as Luke tries making the ultimate sacrifice. However, he finds he isn't quite strong enough, so Asch lends him the power of the Key of Lorelei, since he actually had the Jewel of Lorelei the whole time and didn't know it, which was acting as an inhibitor for him. As the deed is being done, Luke finds he can see through himself and questions what that is about. And the miasma gets dissipated. But both Luke and Asch find themselves still alive. Jade, however, doesn't trust this reunion, and he demands Luke get looked at by a doctor. Back in Belkend, the doctor says Luke's fonons are separating at an alarming rate, and that he will eventually die. After all he has done, is this truly his fate?

Welcome to the first Long Play on this Channel in a long while. It is Tales of the Abyss. I did a full Let's Play of it before, and this is the New Game+ playthrough. In it, we will do basically everything in the original project, but we will be having much longer episodes to get through it quicker. I will still be showing off all skits and pretty much all scenes. I will also show off all items I can find. But I will be making new decisions, when one is offered to us. I will not be showing off speaking to all NPCs. I will also not be showing off all minigames. Only what I need for the story's sake. I hope you enjoy this. And, as always, let me know what you feel about me reading skits, or if you want me to speak to certain NPCs. I will also take requests for certain costume titles for each of the characters. Just let me know. This will also be uploaded three days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
Thanks for watching. Have a great day. Keep it real.
