This is one of the hardest bosses in the game and the single most powerful boss in this challenge besides possibly Zagi (2nd Encounter), Nan & Tison were harder but only whilst together, Alexei is hard because it relies on some luck to survive his MA and is more of an endurance fight to save those life bottles for when his MA arrives but you also have to keep the heat on him otherwise he'll heal himself too much, too much healing = more MA's = more unavoidable deaths = game over eventually.

Alexei has alot of damaging attacks and spells but his main threat is his Mystic Arte which deals massive damage in a WIDE area, if he uses this on someone in the centre of the battle field then everyone will be hit and at this level deals on average 2,600-3,000 damage.

With the right skills (HP boosting stuff) you can still survive his MA with some characters, Raven in particular since he can learn Vitality, Vitality 2 and Chivalry in an LGG by this point in the game, no one else i used can survive a direct hit from it though, everyone can however survive if they're on full HP and just within the hit radius and aren't hit by the 2 hits from the sword since some hits from Brilliant Cataclysm will miss but it will leave you with very low HP, usually in double digits.

I had to keep attacking Alexei at any chance, if i left him alone he could start spamming Guardian Frost which recover 12k of his HP which ultimately leads him to using more Over Limits which means more MA's!

I recommend using all your Limit Bottles on this fight, if you don't have many then save them until he starts using his MA to finish him off faster, i didn't use Limit Bottles in case i had to use them on future bosses but i only had to use them for the last boss and you get 12 from here until then, the last boss is also easier to beat than Alexei without the use of Limit Bottles.
