Tales of Xillia 2 Review
Wow, it seems like it was just yesterday that I was anticipated for the release of the original Tales of Xillia and now lo and behold, Tales of Xillia 2 has now been released, for quite a while now. As a huge fan of the tales series and of the original xillia, I knew I had to get this game on day 1. Though I have heard of certain people's problem of xillia 2 with stuff like reused assets, the structure of the game in terms of how you progress the game, etc. But on the other hand, I have heard various good things about xillia 2 from importers, some of them even saying that xillia 2 is one of their favorite game in the series. so it can go either way. but the ultimate questions that needs to be asked is, is it a good game?
Platform: PS3
Developer: Namco tales studio
Publisher: Namco Bandai

Pros:
Fantastic combat system and gameplay systems
Great story and characters
continue the development of past characters
Cons:
Reused assets
debt system structure
job board quests feeling fillery
Summary:
Overall, Tales of Xillia 2 is a great sequel to the original xillia in my opinion. While the game uses a lot of reused assets from the 1st game and doesn’t really upgrade its visuals from its predecessor, all the important aspects of the game has been upgraded with its dark, emotional, and interesting story, the characters being likeable as the first game, even more so in this game, carrying the development they got from the first game, and being put in interesting scenarios where they are able to develop further in the game, the setting of the game being fleshed out as you see the aftermath effects of the 1st game via the schicsm being dispelled and seeing the Reiza Maxia and Elympios relations though some character side story cutscenes by talking to the npcs, and of course, the various gameplay improvements that has been made in this game from the combat system, the new progression system, etc. There is some missteps in the game such as the structure of the game going to annoy some as well as the reused assets , but I say that Xillia 2 is a worthy sequel to its predecessor and is a nice way to end the xillia universe and I would highly recommend people who have played and enjoyed the original game to give Xillia 2 a try.
