Talking to a CREEPY AI in VR... // New Oculus Quest 2 Replika AI Friend App
1,660You can now download your very own VR AI friend on the Oculus Quest 2 thanks to a brand new App Lab game called Replika, a program that allows you to have full AI conversations with a character of your choosing...and it's really creepy! This AI conversation app might not be the most advanced but it still manages to create some bizarre interactions and responses that feel a little too real at times, even with the almost nonexistant movement of the VR AI character. The Oculus Quest Replika / Quest 2 Replika app is available for free via App Lab (link down below), it's still in early access and does require you to make an account to play with it but it's definitely worth having a look at just to experience talking to a creepy AI in VR for youself... see if you can break it with some hard hitting questions like I did!

It's unclear where this artificial intelligence robot / VR artificial intelligence gets a lot of it's responses from, it must have access (even in a limited capacity) to the basic functions of the internet because it was able to reel off tonnes of Harry Potter facts when asked but it also failed to answer simple maths problems so I'm unsure just how advanced this VR AI is! Either way it was fun, and a little creepy, to chat to a creepy artificial intelligence in VR like this!
