http://hirudov.com presents test of the classic Battlezone clone for TRS-80 machines called Tank Zone 2000, running on TRS-80 Model 1 computer. The game features 3D raycasted world, war tactics with hide and seek tank battles. Developed back in 1981, the game pioneers the 3D virtual worlds and tank simulations. The game is very similar to the Armored Patrol game, but have some notable differences.
In Tank Zone 2000 the obstacles are pyramids, while in Armored Patrol they are houses.
In Tank Zone 2000 the UFOs appear instead of the alien robots in Armored Patrol. When destroyed, the UFOs give 5000 points, while the alien robots give 2000 points.
Version 2.0 of the game is shown. Armored Patrol has no version written on the title screen.
