Tanking for Dummies: A Guide to Tanking in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
372What's goin' on, guys, this is Restless Corpse, and today I'm gonna be talkin' about tanking in Final Fantasy 14, A Realm Reborn. Final Fantasy 14 is the first MMORPG for a lot of players that are playing right now, and grouping up in dungeons and other activities is a must, so I figured I'd make this video to try and help some of those new players out, or maybe even give some older players that might not have played a tanking class in other MMOs a little help. Who knows, maybe some long-time tanking veterans might even find it interesting to see how others go about gaining and holding hate.
My main class is a level 50 Paladin, so this video will focus on Gladiator and Paladin tanking. For the players new to MMORPGs, first of all, tanking is one of the most important roles in a party. It's not all about being able to take damage and survive, it's also about being able to keep every enemy's focus on you. Tanks are built to withstand damage, and healers aren't. Some damage dealers are able to take a pounding, but the problem lies in keep the enemy or enemies focused on them.
