Target Selectors for Beginners (1.21.4)
This guide aims to cover the basics of target selectors in Minecraft. In it, we explore what a target selector is, what an argument is, and how they can be used with /execute.

Personal Note:
This video was somewhat rushed. I started it about a week ago and set an arbitrary deadline of January 6th so I would actually end up releasing it. Perhaps that wasn't the best decision as the quality did suffer as a result. That is partially the reason why this video uses TTS. I considered voicing over the video myself, but it is way eaiser to work with TTS audio. If the TTS really does bother you, I put the script in the subtitles so you can mute the video. The script is also not amazing and has a few gramatical errors that I didn't bother fixing.
I had also recently discovered that it was possible to use the animation library 3Blue1Brown uses (Manim) and wanted to give that a try. It is meant for making mathematically precise animations for math videos, but I used it for this instead. I don't think I really used it to its full potential simply on account of the fact that my mathematical knowledge is so low. I wanted to be more ambitious with the animations, but again, due to the arbitrary deadline that I set for myself, I decided to stick with keeping it simple. Plus, even these simple animations ended up being over 400 lines of python. The making of this video was largely a learning process; this video is essentially my only experience with Manim. I tried creating background music for the video but couldn't really get anything that sounded like background music, so I shelved it (I may upload it to my second channel).
The reason I chose to make this video is because I think that there isn't enough intermediate tutorials for commands. Once I had gotten down the basics, all the tutorials I could find were either way to simple or way too complex. I'm not entirely sure if my tutorial helped fix this problem, but I at least attempted to. My tutorial ended up being more beginner friendly than I had originally intended, so I just went with it.
An issue I encountered when creating this tutorial is that I have no idea how to teach, nor do I know exactly who the target audience should be. Target selectors are a relatively simple concept to understand, so people looking for a tutorial are likely beginners. The problem here lies in what assumptions I should make about them. Like, do they know what an entity is? Have I explained the concepts such that they can be clearly understood by someone who hasn't used command before? In the end, I decided to assume that they had basic familiarity with Minecraft and have maybe messed around with a few commands before. I figured if they already knew this stuff, they were probably smart enough to figure out the rest themself.
Regardless, any feedback is appreciated. Although I'm not sure if i'll make another one of these.
