Since the gameplay in The Darkening E2 is virtually identical for all levels and I'm tired of repeating myself, I'll forego the description this time.
Thanks to a small passageway at the beginning of the level there are a few route options; well, two route options.
First, you have to decide whether you want the RL or PR first. However, there's not much ammo for either until the end so, regardless of which you choose, you'll be spending much of the level with the SSG and CG (like I said: virtually identical).
The PR route requires one less lift ride, less backtracking and makes killing the Arch-Vile quick and clean, so that's what I chose.
As usual with the SSG and CG, you'll need help from the monsters to make things go quickly. To that end, this demo contains the largest amount of infighting manipulation I've done up to this point. Where this is most important is in the Yellow Key area. Tightly packed with Hell Knights, Barons, Mancubi and Cacos, you would think this would be easy. However, the way the area is set up staggers their release. So, to make the most of it, you need to run through the area without shooting much. Like I said, though, it's "tightly packed."
Moments to watch for: the aforementioned Yellow Key area; the Baron battle at the PR; three Chaingunners dying entirely without my help (on the last lift); the Cyberdemon battle.
Really, though, you should just watch the whole thing. I mean, not only do I halve the old record, I never get hit!
Alternate: Here's something I've never done before: included an alternate ending. I decided to redo it because I wasn't sure about which method would be faster. The first way (get the Cyberdemon infighting, then go back for the ammo) turned out to be slower, so I redid it by grabbing the ammo first. It wound up saving six seconds. I'm only including it here because the dodging on the platform is insane and deserves to be seen. I don't get hit in this version, either.
