This is a Tool-Assisted Superplay/Speedrun (often abbreviated to "TAS") where a player can edit, rerecord, and manipulate a game into doing whatever that person desires. Visit http://tasvideos.org/ for more information.

Kakuna is a tricky and precise Pokemon to get good shots of, and requires an Electrode to explode. I developed this setup so that manually blowing up an Electrode is unnecessary, and positioning is adjusted for getting a great shot.

Instructions:
1) Optional: Resetting the console ensures you have the same RNG each time, as the Kakunas can drop in different ways. This isn't a significant difference though, and it's more efficient to just retry.
2) Skip the cutscene, hold R, and press C-right after crashing.
3) Pause on the correct frame. You can use the U and the light spot on the wall to check. If you're a bit off, you still may be able to get a decent score, or you can be picky and retry.
4) Let go of R, hold Z, and then unpause. Because of the FPS of the game, you can get two different sets of frames, and you need the correct one for this setup. There is no way to control this, but you can still get decent shots with the incorrect one.
5) Very gently tap down on the controller stick, turn a fair bit to the right, and press A on the correct frame.
