*** Waygetter Tells Us to Stay Away From the Kaleidoscope ***

Why? Playing through the game, it seems as if it is the only way to restore the player's memories about the Baby Talking Tattletails back to normal. This device or place obviously corrupts the player's memories, but it also acts as a place where every single one of the memories are stored.

There is the possibility that this special area was created by Waygetter. This is because we can see many references to the Waygetter Facility, including a photo of the facility, and audio cassette recording of employee training, and Snowglobe and NightNight (defective Tattletails).

There's also the possibility that it represents a place in the player's mind, specifically their subconscious mind. This is because it is an area where all memories are stored, good and bad, real and imaginary.

It is also important to consider the original game's trailer. The new VHS tape plays a Tattletail commercial with a message that is opposite that of the original game's trailer. Instead of Mama not being available, Mama was never banned. This might indicate that the expansion is about an alternate or inverse world, kind of like an "Opposite Land"
