Taylor Swift, according to Shawn Levy, is a unique generational voice comparable to Beyonce.
Shawn Levy, a renowned Hollywood director, has compared pop singer Taylor Swift to iconic filmmaker Steven Spielberg, describing Swift as a unique "generational voice and creative force" in the business, similar to Beyoncé.
Levy shared his respect for Taylor Swift's foray into film directing in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. Levy, who recently collaborated with Swift on her All Too Well music video, expressed his admiration for her approach to the art form.
While he couldn't talk about his experience working with her because of a strike, he did say, "I think she has the makings of a hell of a director."
This acclaim comes as Swift prepares to direct her first feature-length film, a project she developed herself, for Searchlight Pictures in December 2022.
Levy noted connections between Swift's creative vision and Spielberg's philosophy, underlining the need of following one's intuition while creating a cinematic or musical masterpiece.
"The depth of her vision for how she wants a creative piece to be, whether it's a lyric, a melody, a bridge, a concert tour, a video, it's profound," he said of Swift. It's vibrant, and she has the courage of her views."
Notably, Taylor Swift has already made history by winning two MTV Video Music Awards for Best Director, recognizing her knack for producing fascinating visual narrative through her music videos.
Swift's impact in the entertainment sector is on par with some of the greatest names, with her highly anticipated Eras Tour concert film coming theaters shortly.
