Team Fortress 2 -- Death Run Mod

Race your way to the finish, but be sure to watch out for Saxton's nefarious traps along the way.

The video is a bit quiet (at least it's better than being super loud).

*Repeated video description from part 1*

Long story short: Saxton (a single player) tries to kill off everyone else via punching buttons which trigger traps. Everyone else tries to make it to the end. On most maps, making it to the end triggers some sort of minigame which ultimately decides who wins.

The Skype call consisted of some combination of:
Chocovich, JohnnyTheWandall, A Sarcastic Hunter, Exitar, Kippesoep, The Solo Warrior, GamerGreyfox, PFS Venom, Hobo Ninja, and Pyro_Mancer.

So very early on in the games, I disabled my weapon viewmodel via r_drawviewmodel 0 in console. It's so much nicer being able to see everything rather than having a Powerjack or whatever take up 50% of my screen.

I could make one 55 minute video out of my footage, or I could do a whole bunch of cutting and make maybe one 20 minute video out of 55 minutes possible footage. Well, I cut out all that I really wanted to already, so I've got 55 minutes of clips. One video seemed too long (especially with YT's laggy video buffering), two videos still seemed too long. Ten videos seemed too many, so three videos was the obvious choice.

I chose to make 3 videos (similar to what I did for Slender Fortress; afterall, who would really want to watch 55 minutes all in one go?). However, after some serious contemplation (maybe even 5 minutes!), I decided to leave the clips pretty much in chronological order. I interweaved two different maps at all times, but each series of clips within a map are in chronological order, and each map's first appearance appears chronologically. Well, the very end of part 3 will actually be the very earliest clips, but hey.

So, the three videos are three parts of the same overall video. Just call me Peter Jackson.

Actually, I am not entirely sure if I made a video about a mod with friends talking throughout it, or I made a video of friends talking with a mod playing throughout it. Probably it's the latter.

Do note that no one in this video means any disrespect to people of any hair color, nationality, pizza preference, hippo hugging, or anything else that anyone might or might not take offense at. Please don't take offense at the above sentence, this sentence, my username, or even that smudge on your computer screen.

Interestingly enough, I feel that part 3 is better than part 2 is better than part 1 (whereas in Slender Fortress I felt 1 is better than 2 is better than 3 3). Mostly, that would be due to the difference in the editing styles between these two video series. So if you're still reading this, be sure to watch part 2 and 3! Well, of course, you should do that anyway, if you like the first video in any series. Except for the Matrix trilogy maybe; I still haven't seen the second or third one.

Here's a list of possible servers that run Death Run:
http://www.gametracker.com/search/tf2/US/?search_by=map&query=vsh_dr
If you don't use U.S. servers, be sure to change the "Located in" box.

What's the difference between a map named vsh_dr... and just dr_... ? Is that a server that has death run without Saxton? Eh, maybe I could take 10 seconds and join one of those servers... Nah, too lazy.
