Today on Valve News Network, we take a look at the cut Team Fortress 2 weapon, The Spy Traps, in detail. Back in late 2013 and early 2014, and following major update events like Two Cities and Mecha, the TF team was busy at work on an updated concept surrounding the ongoing war between Engines and Spies. This concept, while being worked on for many months, was being leaked in small bug fix updates of the time. This lead to much speculation and hushed anticipation for an update to the gameplay for both the Engineer and Spy, but it never came. It’s not known why Valve decided to cut the concept of this entire update altogether, however, we do know everything that was cut, and today, we are going to be talking about just one of the many features left out of Team Fortress 2, the Spy Traps.
