Technobabylon is a Point and Click Adventure in a futuristic big city setting.
With advanced AI and Human-electronic connection to the network, with nano machines. So Humans with special equipment can dive into the internet, which they call it Trance here.
But a criminal, the Mindjacker is using that system to overload the nervous system of certain humans to fry their brain.
It's not known yet, what this Mindjacker is after, but your characters are on his traces.

You play different characters in this game, so you start of in an one room apartment, which is basically just a cell. You have an AI Machine that prepares food for you and an AI that serves as protection at the door.
But connection to the internet drops and kicks you out of the connection. Also you seem to be stuck in this one room.
This kinda teaches you how Point and Click Adventures work, you have a limited amount of Interactions with objects and NPC's. In this case with Cheffi the Food "Cooking" AI and Guardien, the Knight, which is the AI at your Door. You get the information, that the door is locked and that you can only use a safety open, by removing the panel. But to do so, you need a sturdy object. Cheffi only gives you a Plastic Tray and Spork, which is too soft. This meant as protection, since some citizen did commit suicite with the Metal cuttlery. The only way to get the machine to spit out a Metal Tray and Spork is, by infecting Cheffi with a Virus and let Guard destroy it.
