Tekken 3 [Arcade] - play as Kuma
This is a playthrough using Kuma in the Arcade version of Tekken 3. Read on below for more information...
Kuma is a hidden character in the game. He is a time-release unlockable playable character.
===== KUMA TIME RELEASE =====
From the game's first power on, Kuma will be selectable in 49 days. His Coming Soon screen is supposedly on 28 days.
===== TO FIGHT KUMA =====
Initially, Kuma appears on Stage 4. If you have selected your character with the Punch buttons you will fight Kuma, if you used the Kick buttons you will fight Panda instead.
===== KUMA STORY =====
Like his late father, Kuma Jr. is Heihachi's bodyguard and pet. One day when watching TV, presumably a show related to the tournament, Kuma reacted wildly to the sight of Paul Phoenix. Since then he has became obsessed, training hard under the guidance of Heihachi in the hopes of defeating Paul in battle one day. Kuma is secretly in love with Ling Xiaoyu's pet Panda.
===== ABOUT KUMA =====
What started off as an interesting "animal character" and contrast to the human fighters ended up being a staple for the Tekken franchise... if you are well-versed in fighting games, Kuma should be one of the first characters that pops into your head when you think of animal fighting game characters.
===== KUMA GAMEPLAY =====
Kuma is of course a derivative of Jack from the prequel games... he plays almost identically to him bar a few differences here and there. In Tekken 3 he is more unique, with some more unique moves to himself such as the Salmon Hunting and Terrible Claw, as well as an unblockable Fart move.
===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / TRIVIA =====
---- He is also known as Rage Bear.
---- His fighting style is called the Heihachi-style Improved Kuma Shinken.
---- As a bear character, Kuma has appeared in all of the Tekken games. The original Kuma appearing in Tekken 1 and 2, and his son (Kuma II) appearing in Tekken 3 and beyond.
---- Kuma does not speak obviously.
---- In the PS1 version of the game, him and Panda share the same ending video but with a slight difference - Kuma's one is cut off early at the end just before the guy fully shuts the gate, meaning that you don't get to see the part where Panda and Xiaoyu walk close up into the camera view with Kuma behind them.
