Tekken 3D: Prime Edition [AZAHAR]: Quick Battle Mode (Arcade) with Alisa Bosconovitch [Hard Diff.]
Note: Sound effect in the emulated version of this game are a bit uneven: sometimes they play a bit louder than usual and sometimes they don't play the sound at all or are lowered in volume.
In the midst of me going through various things on the new rig I decided to do something with a bit of a theme this time around: comparing Tekken 6 and it's portable releases together. I actually still own the physical copy of T3DPrime and when it was more new on the 3DS, it certainly my go to for on the go Tekken at the time.
Released in 2012, Tekken 3D Prime Edition is actually a shrunk down and modified version of the PSP version of Tekken 6 from 2009 (which in itself is a shrunk down and portable version of the console versions of Tekken 6), released alongside the year that gave us Tag 2 and the movie Blood Vengeance (which is packaged with the 3DS title). While it doesn't have full customization, ghosts battle or any side modes outside of a special survival mode where you can unlock colorswaps for the characters, it does have numerous alternate stages not found anywhere else with their own soundtracks (which I like). The typical final boss of T6 (Azazel) is nowhere to be seen in this version: Quick Battle/Arcade instead lines up the last three opponents on your run as static encounters with 3 other characters on the roster, designated as "Rival Bosses" basically. Finally, this game replaces the original 'old Heihachi' with the 'Younger' depiction from Tag 2, as this was around the time the 1st voice of Heihachi (Daisuke Gōri) passed away and was replaced by Unshō Ishizuka, who in turn passed away during the time of T7 and was THEN replaced by Unshō Ishizuka as of the anime Tekken Bloodline & of course, T8.
