Temtem is unique in that you are able to pick and choose various threats you want to ban and options you want to bring in what they like to call the Pick and Ban Phase. This will happen before every competitive match allowing you to effectively get rid of things you will have a hard time dealing with, or use this phase to purposefully bait your opponent into bringing something you want to counter directly with the next pick.
