Tension 16 bit PC98-86 Cover (Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished Omen)
27This one's been a long time coming, kept you waiting, huh?
I began working on this since the end of March at least. The reasons why it took so long are: 1. I was busy IRL 2. I'm a lazy alcoholic prick 3. Transcribing solos fucking sucks.
But yeah, Tension! While it's primarily based on Ys I Complete's version (which is indisputably the best one), I also tried combining the elements from Ys Chronicles, Ys Origin, and Ys Eternal versions, in an attempt to make something of a "Ultimate version of Tension"! The only one i'm missing is the Eternal SC-88 MIDI version, because I couldn't figure out how to fit it in. Kinda bummed about it but hey, the cover is bloated anyway, one more would be too much lol. Now, Ys Eternal's solo might sound a tiny bit weird because that version was originally of slower BPM than the rest. I tried my best to make it sound natural, still feel like I could've done better but nah I don't wanna waste even more months on this cover than I should lol.
As a side note, this and Palace of Destruction are the two tracks that got me into Falcom in the first place, and heard them for the first time in a Sonic romhack of all things lol (Sonic Boom).
