Terrabuilder: The Insane Tool That Powered Septerra Core
118In the mid 90s a small team set out to make an expansive PC RPG, Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator. With a tiny budget and only 15 full time devs (only 2 programmers!), they would need to build a crazy set of tools that would allow them to construct a vast fantasy world stuffed with dialogue, combat, and puzzles. Terrabuilder was the solution!
(Updated with a few corrections: At 29:40 the logic script is not changing variables, but actually checking their values. At 36:34 Princess Alisa's combat entry script isn't executing the skills, those combat entry scripts actually activate / ready each of the skills the enemy will take into combat.
