Septerra Core Prototype Video 1996
46In 1996 Septerra Core was in development at Viacom New Media (VNM), but a series of corporate mergers found the company under the control of Virgin Interactive Entertainment. VNM was renamed Rabid Entertainment, while Virgin began to appraise Rabid's projects in order to decide which ones would get the axe and which ones would continue development. The Septerra Core team put together a presentation for the new brass, including this video of the game's prototype, intended to demonstrate its look and feel. Presented here is a recreation of the original video, using rescued gameplay footage from an aging VHS combined with cinematic renders created for the presentation.
