[15/12/2022 EDIT: Seems Youtube's decided this stuff is popular enough that adverts need to be stapled to them. I do not monetise my videos, and have no control over adverts being placed on my videos as per Youtube's whims; I apologise to folks who are unable to circumvent these things for one reason or another. If you have a problem with this, my suggestion would be to play the latest version and see the new version of the fight.]

Raiding the Lihzahrd Temple during a Blood Moon wasn't the best of ideas, let me tell you. There WERE traps in there, but my first attempt to record got nixed thanks to Skype (such a wonderful program by the way), so most of the path was clear by the time I got there. It's why I fell for that last trap in the Golem room; I'd removed it before, but the unfortunate crash undid that.

Anyway, the Golem! A big beastie, fought within the Lihzahrd Temple once you put a Power Core into the altar. Since my altar got some rocks above it, the Golem doesn't quite spawn as it normally would, but it's not stuck in rock as some other unfortunate folks have had happen to them. First of all, you're stuck fighting in an arena that's pre-built, and any attempts to escape to the surface will have the Golem despawn, robbing you of a rare Power Core and of any Golem loot. The Golem has two phases, one where you attack its head, and one where the head floats above you and the body tries to goomba-stomp you. It also has extendo-fists that act independently of the boss, in a way; you don't HAVE to kill them to win, but they get rather violent as the Golem loses health.

The Golem's head will shoot fireballs that bounce around similarly to Water Bolt shots, but can hit you multiple times if you're not careful. Once the Head's down to half health, it turns towards you and starts shooting lasers, with greater frequency the less health it has. This pattern repeats itself when the Head separates from the body, which flies around trying to stomp you.

As you might be able to tell, this boss is somewhat on the easy side. I went in well fed and floaty, and came out somewhat busted but a-OK. That you have to beat Plantera to get into the Temple would suggest that the temple is difficult to plunder, and whilst it IS somewhat tough with all the traps, the place is not as tough once you know how to declaw it.

I'm STILL using the same weapons as before, but switched out the Exploding Rounds for Venom Rounds to make for less ear-ringing. And apparently, venom affects the Golem. Who knew?
