Nothing really prepares you for this game, it's not a zombie shooter or a survival horror game with ghosts and fantastical monsters chasing you. No, "Narcosis" uses an environment that actually exists in the real world, and creatures that live in it. The deep sea holds many unknowns, but a lot of them we know well, as we've seen them in TV documentaries and nature programs. It's these 'real' monsters that you'll be faced with as you traverse the depths of the ocean, trying desperately to get back to the surface after a catastrophic earthquake left you and your research team stranded at the bottom of the ocean, your research vessel torn to pieces. The sense of panic you feel as you see your oxygen levels decreasing, and have to go in search of o2 canisters, is very real! The restricted view of your divers helmet only adds to the tension, as all manner of sea creatures come at you from all directions, threatening to damage your flimsy faceplate. This is a truly terrifying and un-nerving game......
