Tesla Robotaxi and its called Cybercab
Tesla has introduced its latest vision for autonomous transportation with the unveiling of the Cybercab, a fully self-driving "Robotaxi." This futuristic vehicle was revealed during a presentation in Hollywood, offering a glimpse into Tesla's plans for the future of urban mobility. The Cybercab features a sleek, two-door coupe design with butterfly doors and draws inspiration from the larger Cybertruck for its front-end styling. However, it is more compact and aerodynamically shaped, with seating for two.
Notably, the Cybercab lacks traditional controls—there is no steering wheel or pedals, just a large screen on the dashboard for passengers. Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk announced that the Cybercab would be available to the public for under thirty thousand dollars, with inductive charging that eliminates the need for a physical plug.
In addition to the Cybercab, Musk revealed the Robovan, an autonomous electric van designed to transport groups of people. While specifications were not disclosed, it appears capable of accommodating over ten passengers.
Tesla plans to begin autonomous operations with its Model 3 and Model Y in California and Texas next year, with the Cybercab hitting the streets by 2026. However, given Musk's history of optimistic timelines, this release may see delays.
