I found a way to connect your Android phone to your Tesla via the browser. From here you will have access to text messaging and all your phone notifications. The Tesla web browser is slow and although this method works, it is not the greatest. Nonetheless, you can give it a try. You might like the end result.

Side note: They have an iOS version of the app. Not sure how well it works. I have linked both versions below.
