Finally giving into the hype surrounding it, I managed to get into one of the closed Beta weekends for ArcheAge, developed by XL Games and published by Trion Worlds. I try to provide as much info as possible, along with showing off a bit of gameplay.

It is a high fantasy based, open world, "sandbox" MMO game that has you play as one of four races. The Nuian, Harani, Elves, or Firran. These four races are broken into two factions that are abiding by an uneasy truce, after leaving their previous realm that was left in ruins.

There is much to do in the world, with all of the side occupations, professions, forms of travel (mount, glider, ship), crafting, housing, and even government. Even the class system is different than what is to be expected from a traditional MMO. It provides the kind of freedom rarely seen in MMOs these days.
