Hey everybody, IllogicalJJ here. Today I will be testing out the much anticipated quality of life improvements made to the PvP battle mode.
With the changes released this morning the game should now find quicker battles as well as a few other improvements.
According to the release notes, You should get a small rep bump for losses. And you should now get rep for sailing out of the circle.
To speed up matchmaking they enabled same ship battles. But they did not add the cross stamp migration yet as they have run into problems with it.
The first thing I am interested in Testing is matchmaking times. I have been playing this mode primarily and have spent an unreasonable amount of time in these loading tunnels.
I am really excited to start getting faster games.
Well Here I am in The Tunnel. 5 Minutes have already passed by so the footage is a bit useless.
Hoping to get a game soon.
Ok I got my first game since the update. I was in the loading tunnel for 12 minutes and 18 seconds.
Very disappointing to me as I was very excited for faster games.
Hopefully its because the update is new and there is not a lot of people on yet.
So right off the bat you will notice we are in a new battle location and we are also in the middle of a storm.
This will make for an interesting fight since we are solo slooping and the wheel will be spinning.
My goal is to win, but It would be better to lose as I would like to see how much of a rep bump they added to losing.
So as you can see I lost the battle. Unfortunately I was not paying attention to the water and hit 2 floating kegs.
Time to see the rep bump.
To me honestly It is not noticeable.
So I went in the tunnel again but once again it took over ten minutes. I was going to test the out of bounds rep. However I have to get ready for work now.
Hopefully someone in the comments can let me know if the rep you get for leaving the circle is the same as a loss or if it is less.
Let me know in the comments if you think the loss rep was increased.
Don't forget there is a new free emote in the pirate emporium as well.
