Testing Times at Tsukuba! @DaveCamYT takes on the Global Mazda MX-5
112Brand new for the first iRacing season on the 2022 calendar, Dave Cam is doubling his video output on the Traxion YouTube channel. He’s stepping into the virtual Global Mazda MX-5 Cup car to explain his in race thoughts. As Dave puts it, it’s time for him to put his money where his mouth is and prove why his track guides are worth tuning in for. You don’t have to prove anything to us, Dave, we already know!
The series is the Global Mazda MX-5 Fanatec Cup, the very same one he’s making the Track Guides for this season. In comparison to the other series across the iRacing platform, this one has shorter races. This Tsukuba season opener is only a 15 lap sprint, and Dave has decided to take this challenge from the back of the pack.
We’re giving you all free access to the mind of one Dave Cam as he races through the field. Listen and watch as Dave gives his racing thought process throughout every lap. Certain questions, like why did he make that move, or why did he decide to do that, will be answer throughout the video. This should just add a whole new level to the track guide’s slow and methodical approach from earlier in the week.
Remember, the Tsukuba 2000 Full layout has 12 corners and measures 2.045-kilometers, or 1.271-miles in length. This won’t be a long race at all. The start is a bit dicey, and there are definitely a few bent virtual fenders. Don’t fret, just watch and see how high up the order Dave can get.
