Tetris Effect: Connected - 23 Lines Zone Clear / Infinitris by T-Flat (Cut pauses)
Okay, a little context and explanation:
I became the 8th person ever to clear an Infinitris. While I used a much more consistent setup than what Kirby used in hers, it still requires a lot of luck and a lot of planning in order to succeed.
I trimmed a vast majority of pause time. The pauses made this video roughly 50 minutes, and isn't very entertaining or helpful. Feel free to request a full, uncut video if you'd like to see it.
I've been sporadically attempting a 23 line zone clear for about 3 months, and took a long break while playing in Square One. Now that I'm eliminated, I can go back to attempting solo feats. I decided randomly to try to get an Infinitris earlier this morning, see what I could do.
So, for this version of an Infinitris setup, I played all the way through Journey mode into Metamorphosis. I then topped out and continued, leaving me with a fresh board. I then used a setup called "Playing Forever", which is a consistent setup in a game with 7-bag RNG.
Doing two loops of this will clear 112 lines and leave you with an empty field and fresh bag. The empty field and fresh bag is incredibly helpful, but the 112 lines is too much, since I only get 90 lines before the stage finishes. To compensate, I have to clear 23 lines while looping in order to finish with a line count of 89.
When the loops are finished, I do one set of Playing Forever, while placing the I pieces on the right side. After that, I have to build a prop on the left that reaches row 20 and at least 2-wide with 3 pieces, build a "spike" shape on the right with 3 others, before clearing a single line with the last piece to reach 90 of 90 lines.
Here, "Infinite Zone" triggers, which only happens when you play through the entirety of Journey, starting from The Deep (this is why I had to top out at the start instead of just starting with a blank slate. Topping out does not prevent the Infinite Zone from triggering at the end). This not only makes building at the top easier, but it also lets me place pieces fully above row 20, since lock-out in the zone doesn't result in a game over.
I build everything above row 20 that I need to before I start clearing lines, then fill it in. In order for it to succeed, in the last bag, the T piece must come before I, and the I piece must arrive in either positions 4 or 5 in the bag, in which it arrived in position 4 this time.
