21. Against Medic and Heavy, Ubercharge is highly recommended. In such a dense chokepoint, you are unlikely to pose a threat to the combo without extra support
2. Against a busy Heavy that hasn't spotted you, a useful way to put yourself in a more advantageous position is to produce a little flame from a large distance, then fire a Flare Gun shot as the flame particles reach the enemy, whilst switching back to the Flamethrower immediately. This will give you some extra time to close up without sacrificing the damage.
3. Against a good Heavy without a Medic, time is usually in your favour, so make sure to drag out the battle as much as possible by ducking in and out of cover or airblasting the Heavy behind cover. Peek only for a moment, then trail your flamethrower shots to maximize damage output. Notice than in this particular spot on 5Gorge, the Heavy can shoot between the stair steps, which your flames can't pass through, so I made sure to hide behind the railing on the side in order to block some of his shots. Manage your health by sticking to the Medic or Dispenser and playing around medkits. Just the afterburn dealt over 80 damage in that fight, that's why I prefer to use Stock over Degreaser!
4. A Heavy in middle range is hard to reach, and quickly becomes dangerous if you try to get within your Flamethrower range. In this fight I relied on Flare Gun shots, which are easier to hit against a big and slow target like Heavy. I took 4 shots at the heavy and made sure to keep the flames up. When the Heavy isn't overhealed, 3 hits will usually do the trick.
