Hello! I've spent the last couple days carefully testing the Ambassador and the Revolver's various damage values at various ranges, and put together a nice spreadsheet showing the results. This video goes over the results, and gives some thoughts and feelings on the comparison.

tldr;
The ambassador is really bad
The video assumes you have a 100% headshot ratio, and it still barely does much more than the revolver at times.
Even if you get a headshot every other shot (50% ratio), you're doing a serious amount less useful damage than the revolver at every range.
I would not recommend using the ambassador unless you just really like it.


Disclaimers:
- tests were taken where the first shot is considered to be 0 seconds
- the ambassador was timed manually, take into account human error of a few ms (but not by much)
- impulse 101 was set on so there was no reloading neccessary. I felt like this made the large results cleaner for gamemodes like mvm where you have like 1000 ammo and can actually fire for 20 seconds, while not really affecting the results too much since you're not likely to ever get to fire more than 6 shots anyway. If you do, the other player really deserves to be fragged. Feel free to consider this a discrepancyfor larger ranges though.
- as said above; the ambassador tests basically assumes you can hit 100% headshots - this is really not likely beyond close range, and especially not beyond midrange; hence why i'd recommend halving or even further lowering the ambassador's stats. It's pretty clear that even with a very good 50% headshot per shot ratio, you're still doing about half as much as the stock; often a lot lot less.
