[TF2] I Gave Soldier An Assault Rifle
587In this video, I give Soldier an Assault Rifle. Yep. Shorter video because a) wasn't feeling so hot making the video, and b) couldn't get any fun footage with bots, as forcing Soldier bots to hold the shotgun forces them to instead hold the shovel. All other footage was just boring as I couldn't really play as aggressively.
I was gonna do the AK-47 but I think an M4 fits better, as Soldier is (at least he thinks he is) an American militant. The M4A4 is ported from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
The M4A4 functionality only works on private servers (against bots) or if the server has the txt file installed properly. Else it functions as a normal shotgun.
For server admins who want the mod to work serverside: I don't know how to force players to have the mod installed, but you could pack it into a custom map (using VIDE or Pakrat) to force it to override whatever's installed. To allow it to function properly, place the "tf_weapon_shotgun_soldier.txt" file in the server's tf/scripts folder, and "soldier.txt" in tf/scripts/playerclasses. Ensure no "tf_weapon_shotgun_soldier.ctx" or "soldier.ctx" file exists there, as it will cause players to get kicked if they don't have the ctx file in their "tf/custom/.../scripts" folder or ".../scripts/playerclasses".
