"After an indeterminately long hiatus from this game, I decided to revisit it, my memories of it obscured by the long years since I last played, my mind ready to form fresh and new opinions of it. And form such opinions I did, for better and for worse. How much worse? Enough to drop this game again and never return, that's how much. It's a shame too, because the game handles quite well; it's sharp, responsive, runs smoothly, and makes an effort to be visually appealing, but it's the underlying systems that kill it from the inside."

The 1st 15, our new first impressions series, is quite simply the first fifteen minutes of my time with a game, for what that's worth; no more, no less. First impressions go a long way in setting the tone for how well a game is received by its audience, but this should not be treated as an end-all, formalized review.
