The 30,000 Block Move - Starting Over - 3MGB SMP
3We have gotten so much in our world that we crave a fresh start. This is the start of a new location in the same Season 3 world.
Explanation:
There have been many seasons of Minecraft servers that we have had over the years. Season 1 was started as a LAN world ages ago, converted to a Realm, and then eventually to a full server. We all agree that Season 1 was great, but it was never intended to be a full server. It had a lot of problems logistically and was patched together too often. That's when we started Season 2, which was a much better world for multiplayer. FallenGalaxy and I were the main two there. He built a city. I built a mega villlage. But it still never felt right, like a place we could stay long term beyond those projects. We both burned out on those huge projects and with nothing else to go work on we opted to leave the world behind. There was a short Realm server, which we mostly call Season 2.5, but it was largely just to pass time and very little happened until we both got better setups and some time to work with. After that point, Season 3 started, which is the world inside this video.
We have learned from our former seasons and worlds what to look for and chose this world very carfeully. We have now had this season's survival Minecraft world for over three years now run on a server. It has been a great fit, and we intend to keep this as our forever world.
All of Season 1, Season 2, and Season 2.5 were not shown on YouTube or anywhere else. Most of Season 3 so far was not shown on YouTube either. That was mostly becuase, by the time we got setups to actually record something properly, we were already so far into the world that we never bothered to start recording.
Overall, I kind of regret that in a way. We have made so many things. Crazy redstone farms, mini games and fun events, and deep lore-filled kingdoms have been had. But there is no doubt that this Season 3 world became stale abd stuck in a standstill for a while as we burned out on the complex stuff that we had been doing, much like season 2 did. We needed to make a change.
I started that a long time ago now by building a 60,000 to 100,000 block long railway mostly east of our original spawn. Along the way, I came across tons of fresh new areas. I spent some time building at some of them, mostly making outposts to a villager empire. But then FallenGalaxy also mentioned that he had grown tired of the old area and just needed something new.
You have to understand that when you have everything in the game and no reason to use it the only thing you can do is throw it all away and start fresh. But instead of completely starting over and leaving the world, as we have done on former seasons, we decided to just move far away and start fresh. I had tons of options for him to choose from out the 60K Railway, which was that massive railway I was working on, and that would keep up somewhat connected to the old area while allowing us to have the fun of Minecraft without the complexity of the old world we had made. Just FallenGalaxy and I on a small island in the middle of nowhere. No plans besides heading out with nothing and building something the old fashioned way.
This stream starts that journey. It is four hours of whatever we came across, whatever problems we had, and more. If it does well, I might start uploading some updates on the world here and there. Maybe I can give a full tour of all the former seasons and this world, which would take several hours.
