EDIT: Someone on Reddit rightfully pointed out you only need 2 sprinklers, which is mostly fine. the reason I used 3 is that 2 is close to break even on consumption and use. More demanding plants with some W genes could make it net negative. This is normally fine, but if you don't have a jug to fill your planters you can fill them faster with 3 sprinklers or even plant seeds and still have enough flow to fill slowly. A pump sustains 4 sprinklers in fresh water so there's no harm to use more if you don't plan on making multiple floors of planters. For bigger farms, you may want to stick to 2 sprinklers per 2x3 to be efficient.
