After the Fall is one of the most anticipated new VR games of 2021 due to it's fast paced, Left 4 Dead VR style, co-op zombie mayhem and today we can finally take an extensive look at some Oculus Quest 2 gameplay. Thank you to Vertigo for the After the Fall access & for sponsoring this video. This After the Fall Quest 2 gameplay was captured natively using the Quest 2's onboard tools and I hope you'll agree it looks absolutely fantastic for a game running on a standalone VR device with this many enemies on screen & a fully fleshed out multiplayer element. I must admit I had my concerns as we approached the launch of After the Fall, very little (basically none) Quest 2 gameplay had been made publicly available so I started to worry whether the game would even run on the standalone device but as soon as I step foot into these frozen landscapes my worries were put to rest.
Comparing After the Fall to Left 4 Dead VR is an easy comparison to make and after only a short time with the game it's easy to see why so many have drawn this conclusion. The level structure (complete with safe rooms and a final boss/horde assault) will be immediately recognisable to fans of Turtle Rocks Left 4 Dead games and the gameplay loop, which is built for constant replayability, also feels very reminiscent of these titles. Ultimately if you want to jump into a highly replayable, co-op, VR zombie shooter packed with gun upgrades to find, higher difficulties to tackle, a PVP mode for settling disputes and a large scale cross platform hub area which makes partying up an absolute breeze then After the Fall is the new Quest 2 game for you. The fact it looks and runs great on native Quest 2 hardware is just the cherry on top of this already appetizing cake, it pushes the game to the forefront of conversations about the best Quest 2 multiplayer games and I can't wait to see if Vertigo can bring the title in all it's glory to original Quest headsets soon.
