NEW BIOSHOCK VR is here and it's INSANE! // Return to Rapture Part 2 is THE BEST VR MOD!
0My dream of being able to step foot inside Rapture in a Bioshock VR game has finally been realised, Return to Rapture part 2 is the BEST VR mod I have played to date and the closest thing to an official Bioshock VR we currently have. Simply put this is a Bioshock fans dream come true and it's all being achieved by a small team of dedicated modders working with original Bioshock assets inside the incredible Half Life Alyx mods community. Blending the world of Half Life Alyx with Bioshock this stand alone Bioshock VR adventure takes players back to Rapture and allows them to use the incredible VR mechanics of Alyx to interact with a fully authentic Bioshock world complete with plasmids, splicers, big daddy's and of course little sisters (who can be saved or harvested just like in the original games). To say I was impressed with this Bioshock VR mod is a huge understatement... my mind was blown.
I know using the word INSANE in a thumbnail or title is pretty on the nose these days but this is the first time I've felt completely stunned by the quality of a modded VR product. If you didn't know any better you'd be forgiven for thinking this was an official Bioshock VR product because the world is so authentic. Yes there have been some sacrifices, using plasmids isn't as freeing or fun as in the originals but it's still incredible to see them implemented at all. The splicers are also a little wonky as they run around the environment but just being able to fight these iconic foes in VR makes up for that. I recorded all of this Bioshock VR gameplay using my Oculus Quest 2 and Airlink, this mod is currently available in early access via Patreon & will be arriving on Steam in the future once it is in a more complete state.
