The boring game of Project Lazarus - Mecha roguelike survival
Introducing Project Lazarus, an exhilarating reverse bullet hell experience combined with mech survival and rogue-lite elements! Brace yourself as you take on hordes of alien monsters, using your strategic prowess to snowball your mech's arsenal and emerge victorious. Collect valuable items and crystals to level up, allowing you to install and upgrade your mech, ensuring you establish absolute fire superiority.
This game didn't satisfy my hunger for a good roguelike survival game even though it is adding an element which I really like. (MECHAS) This game is so boring that is made me drowsy while playing it halfway of the mission. There are some points that I want to point out regarding this game.
Mech movement - Movement of each mech are unidentical to each other which is good but controlling them feels quite janky. The controls doesn't feel very responsive.
Enemies - Enemies in this game doesn't have any feedback when you shoot them. They don't get pushed back even for a bit. There are not so many variations of the enemies and it makes the gameplay repetitive. The elite enemies are also smaller than the ordinary mob which doesn't make sense because elites should be at least a bit bigger than your ordinary mob for them to stand out. You will only notice these elites because they are glowing and they are much harder to kill.
Weapon variety - Not so many choices of weapons/skills in this game. They have lots of different mechs but their weapons are mostly same. Why use another mech if they will only have the same weapons? duh
Music - I feel like the background music doesn't fit the game at all! When I close my eyes, I hear background music of Final Fight 4 or some 90's beat em up game. It is so bad and annoying that I had to turn the music off. The theme of the game is quite serious so the upbeat music doesn't really help it.
The female voice - I don't like the female voice that talks whenever you get a power up. It gets a bit annoying specially when your doing 30 minute runs and this voice is always telling you what power up you got and when the power up is finished. Imagine getting a power up every 20 or 30 seconds. This voice will totally annoy you.
My Rating: 4.5/10
