The Cave (Game From Ron Gilbert | Part 1 of 3 - Intro and The Hillbilly)
16The Cave is a 2013 platforming/adventure/puzzle game created by Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island's Ron Gilbert. Three interesting characters (from a pool of seven choices) enter the titular Cave (who speaks to us throughout our adventure, btw), either with their own motivation to do so and seeking unique objects of desire. The trio must work together to solve puzzles which are unique to them in order to finally achieve what they seek. I chose the Hillbilly, the Twins, and the Monk as my trio... let's go!
In part one of this three part The Cave game playthrough, we collect three souvenirs for the gift shop clerk to gain entrance to the main part of the Cave. As we go, we pick up clues to each of our character's backstories and find ourselves in a carnival which seems to center around the Hillbilly's backstory and his love for the beautiful Two-Legged Woman.
