The Chill Pill II: Continuous vs Batch Processing [Oxygen Not Included]
Just a quick addendum to The Chill Pill Build, which you can find here:

One option we have in the design of this build is to switch from a batch processing design, in which we use a timer circuit to control distinct loading, unloading, and dwell periods, to a continuous processing design, where unloading and loading happens simultaneously.
The downside of a continuous process design is that our cooling element consumes roughly twice as much power as before, since we can no longer use the same auto sweeper as both a loader and unloader to our conveyor rail system, AND we need to handle throughput at a much faster pace. The major upside though is that by resetting the temperature of our vitamin chews more frequently, we maintain a lower temperature in our heat exchange system, which allows us to save considerably on materials.
In this video we quickly show a continuous process design, which allows us to use not just a more compact build, but also one in which we've downgraded a lot of our components: we have gold amalgam aquatuners instead of steel, we have granite fridges instead of ceramic ones, etc, and we still support 6 aquatuners worth of cooling.
Plus, we get to keep the totally sweet name, which is probably the most important feature of all.
