The Colter: Red Dead Redemption Gameplay after DLSS 2.2 update | RDR2 RTX 3080 ti
So I am playing "The Colter", chapter 1 of the Red Dead Redemption 2 after it got update for DLSS 2.2 in July 13 update. Checkout how the nvidia RTX 3080 ti responds to DLSS that is Nvidia’s relatively new AI-driven super-sampling technology, which takes a base canvas rendered at one resolution and extrapolates it into a higher-resolution image on the fly.
Check out the image quality of the gameplay!
The cinematic style of Red Dead Redemption 2's storytelling is one of its most obvious features. While Red Dead Redemption 2 manages to splice in moments of user engagement to accompany character encounters, the narrative of the game, as well as many of the character depictions featured throughout the game, has captured the attention of many fans.
I Put Red Dead Redemption 2's New DLSS 2.2 Update to the Test: Here's What I Found. I got a about 25% increase in performance over the native benchmark run when using Quality Mode at 4K resolution. This is amazing enough on its own, but like with previous DLSS 2.0 titles, I saw an improvement in overall image quality with DLSS replacing the native render.
This is most likely owing to RDR2's infamously bad TAA implementation, which has been generally panned as blurry at best since the game's PC release. DLSS is recognised for cleaning up edges better than most other anti-aliasing algorithms, so while this result isn't exactly shocking, it still feels a little magical when the game not only runs faster but but looks better than a native render.
When comparing across all DLSS settings, the performance increases in 4K were most striking, with Ultra Performance Mode running 50 percent faster than native 4K. As with all DLSS improvements, the gains dwindled as we moved down the resolution tier list. For example, 1440p measurements showed a maximum improvement of only 28% (we're still impressed, but less so) when comparing Ultra Performance Mode to native.
The benefits were much lower at 1080p resolution, where there was a net increase of 23% between native resolution and DLSS set at its quickest setting. As has been the case for the most of its existence, DLSS is a technology that generally favours 4K players first and foremost.
Choosing the appropriate DLSS mode for your eyesight level and available hardware, together with some fine-tuning, should get you there in virtually any arrangement. Red Dead Redemption 2 was already a beautiful game, and now that it can run at 60 frames per second on more hardware than ever, I wouldn't be surprised to see its Steam Charts numbers skyrocket as people strap on their boots, mount their horses, and boot up to experience Arthur Morgan's storey at buttery-smooth frame rates.
