The Comet is a Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters wooden roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Escape in Queensbury, New York, United States. This iconic double out and back coaster opened in 1994 and features a height of 95 feet, a drop of 87 feet, a top speed of 55 mph and a total track length of 4,197.0 feet. The Comet was originally built as Cyclone at Crystal Beach Park (in Fort Erie, Ontario); after the park closed permanently in 1989, Charlie Wood (the late owner of The Great Escape) purchased the coaster and it was reconstructed by Martin & Vleminckx at Great Escape. In September 2009, The Comet was named an American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) Coaster Landmark. Enjoy!
