0For anyone buying a C64 in 1983, their first taste of what the machine could do was the included cartridge, Andrew Spencers' all time classic International Soccer. Coming from a VIC 20, this really was the next level. Big colourful sprites, simple to pick up and play and an absolute blast with two players. Ok, it's not Fifa but in 1983 this was an absolute killer App, particularly in the Football Mad UK.
Revisiting today, its slower than I remember (playing sped up is, however, too fast). But its a game you can lose a few hours to, even today. It remained the best footie game for C64 for a good 5 years before the very similar looking but better playing eeeeeeee I'know it international Soccer (Emlyn Hughes International Soccer outside the UK!).
